HOW TO WRITE RECOMMENDATION LETTER
A recommendation letter is a letter written by someone who knows you well (like a teacher, boss, or mentor) and can speak to your strengths, skills, and character. It is often requested for job applications, college admissions, or scholarships to support your candidacy.
HERE'S WHAT SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN A RECOMMENDATION LETTER:
1. Introduction:
The letter should start by introducing the writer, explaining their relationship with you, and how long they've known you.
Example: "I have had the pleasure of knowing [Name] for the past two years as their teacher at [School]."
2. Purpose of the Letter:
The writer should explain why they are writing the recommendation (for a job, scholarship, college application, etc.).
Example: "I am writing to recommend [Name] for [position/scholarship/college program]."

3. Your Strengths and Qualities:
This is the main part of the letter where the writer describes your skills, achievements, and qualities. They might mention your academic performance, leadership skills, teamwork, dedication, or other strengths relevant to the opportunity.
Example: "Throughout the year, [Name] demonstrated outstanding problem-solving skills, always going above and beyond in class projects."
4. Specific Examples:
The writer should provide real examples of when you showed your strengths. This helps make the recommendation more personal and believable.
Example: "For instance, during our class project, [Name] took the lead in organizing the team and ensuring we met every deadline."
5. Why You're a Good Fit:
The writer should explain why you are a good fit for the opportunity you're applying for, based on the qualities and skills they've shared.
Example: "Given [Name]'s strong work ethic and leadership abilities, I am confident they will thrive in [the program or position]."

7. Signature:
The writer should sign the letter, usually with their name, position, and organization (if relevant).
A good recommendation letter helps to show who you are, your potential, and why you're right for the opportunity, so it's important to ensure that it’s both personal and specific.

USA FULL SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES (COMMON APP)
COMMON APP is a nonprofit organization of 1000+ colleges and universities that simplifies, informs, and supports your college application journey.
The Common Application is an undergraduate college admission application that applicants may use to apply to over 1,000 member colleges, universities, and community colleges in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, as well as in Canada, Australia, China, Japan, and many European countries.
Applying using the Common app allows students to fill out one application and submit it to multiple colleges and universities, saving time and effort compared to applying separately to each institution.
When applying via the Common Application (Common App), there are generally four types of application decisions that colleges can offer:
1. Early Decisions (ED I & ED II): This is a binding application, meaning that if you're accepted, you must attend the school. You can only apply to one college under Early Decision. If accepted, you must withdraw any other college applications.
2. Early Action (EA): This is a non-binding option that allows you to apply early and receive a decision sooner. If you're accepted, you still have the freedom to apply to other schools and make your final decision by the regular decision deadline.
3. Regular Decision (RD): This is the most common application option. It is non-binding, and you typically receive a decision in the spring. It allows you to apply to as many schools as you wish.
4. Rolling Admission: Schools with rolling admissions evaluate applications as they come in and continue to accept students until their class is full. This process is non-binding, and there is usually no strict deadline.
Each option has different deadlines and requirements, so it's important to check each college's policy on the Common App. It’s highly recommended that you start your application as early as possible so you can apply in the first decisions before their deadlines hence giving you a high chance of getting a full scholarship.
Also, watch how you can fill out the recommenders account forms and submit their Recommendation letters on Common app
SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS:
When applying for scholarships through the Common Application, several benefits may be available, depending on the institution and the specific scholarship. There are different Scholarships: Need-based Scholarship, Presidential Scholarships, and Merit-based Scholarship, etc
• Need-based scholarships is granted according to your family's financial stability which can be determined by FAFSA for resident students and CSS Profile or ISFAA for international students. Some universities have their forms which they can use to determine student financial stability, this depends on the university you are applying to.
• Merit-based scholarships are granted according to the student’s performance, those with high marks are given a high amount of scholarship, and those with low marks are given a low amount.
• If given a Full Scholarship, everything will be covered including Tuition fees, Flight tickets, Accommodation, Monthly stipend, job opportunities at the campus, and others depending on the university
• If given a Partial Scholarship, not all educational costs are covered but there’s a high chance of getting a Job at campus depending on the university.

Tips for Finding Specific Programs
To find specific programs offered by a particular institution:
1. Visit the Common Application's Program Search Tool: This tool allows students to filter institutions by major, degree type, and other criteria.
2. Check the University’s Website: Each institution provides detailed information about the programs they offer, including degree requirements, faculty, and resources.
3. Explore Admission Requirements: Some programs may have specific prerequisites or application processes, such as portfolios for arts programs or auditions for performing arts.
By researching and comparing options, students can identify programs that best align with their academic and career goals.
