The City of Kigali (COK) is inviting qualified and motivated candidates to apply for the position of Social Affairs Officer / Team Leader. This recruitment aims to strengthen social protection and inclusive development programs at the Sector level by engaging competent professionals dedicated to supporting vulnerable groups.REGISTER NOW for new programs at MK SCHOLARS

Successful candidates will play a key leadership role in coordinating social affairs initiatives, monitoring social protection programs, and promoting the well-being of women, children, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable populations within the community.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must hold one of the following Bachelor’s degrees with at least 2 years of relevant working experience:

·        Public Administration

·        Administrative Sciences

·        Sociology

·        Psychology

·        Clinical Psychology

·        Social Work

·        Education Sciences

·        Social Studies

·        Arts and Humanities

·        Demography

Required competencies and skills:

·        Strong decision-making and leadership skills

·        Time management and risk management skills

·        Coordination, planning, and organizational abilities

·        Knowledge of government policy-making processes

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

·        Teamwork and communication skills

·        Extensive knowledge in social affairs

·        Fluency in Kinyarwanda, English and/or French (knowledge of all is an added advantage)

AVAILABLE POSITIONS

Location: City of Kigali (COK)
Reports to: Executive Secretary

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Coordinate, monitor, and evaluate social affairs team members.

·        Coordinate the identification of vulnerable groups and their needs at Sector level according to established criteria.

·        Implement the City’s empowerment strategy for vulnerable groups to support their graduation from vulnerability.

·        Coordinate, monitor, and evaluate social protection programs and prepare consolidated impact reports.

·        Monitor women, children, and persons with disabilities promotion programs and produce related reports.

·        Organize awareness campaigns, trainings, workshops, and meetings in collaboration with stakeholders to promote inclusive development.

·        Develop and regularly update a database of vulnerable groups and graduates within the Sector.

·        Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
