NUTRITION SPECIALIST
The Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Development Board (RAB) invites qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Nutrition Specialist. The selected candidates will play a key role in supporting nutrition-related interventions, ensuring effective implementation of activities, and strengthening partnerships with government institutions, development partners, and local organizations.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must meet one of the following academic qualifications and experience requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health with at least 5 years of relevant experience
· Master’s Degree in Public Health with at least 3 years of relevant experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science and Technology with at least 5 years of relevant experience
· Master’s Degree in Food Science and Technology with at least 3 years of relevant experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology with at least 5 years of relevant experience
· Master’s Degree in Biotechnology with at least 3 years of relevant experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry with at least 5 years of relevant experience
· Master’s Degree in Biochemistry with at least 3 years of relevant experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition Sciences with at least 5 years of relevant experience
· Master’s Degree in Nutrition with at least 3 years of relevant experience
Required competencies and technical skills include:
· Digital literacy skills
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently and in a team environment
· Ability to work under minimal supervision
· High sense of responsibility, integrity, and professionalism
· Confidentiality, ethical conduct, and teamwork skills
AVAILABLE POSITIONS
· Nutrition Specialist
· Institution: Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Development Board (RAB)
· Reports to: Cross-Cutting Program Manager
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Nutrition Specialist will report to the Cross-Cutting Program Manager and will be responsible for:
· Coordinating and liaising with project managers to ensure effective implementation of nutrition activities
· Monitoring the nutrition situation in selected areas and providing guidance on priority actions in collaboration with the technical team
· Supporting the development and preparation of project action plans
· Assisting in the creation of materials for nutrition in emergencies, including nutrition information, monitoring, and evaluation tools
· Building the technical capacity of staff through training and mentoring
· Drafting technical notes and reports for specific nutrition-related products
· Monitoring implementation of nutrition activities under existing partnerships to ensure timely delivery and quality standards
· Ensuring timely completion of deliverables according to agreed standards
· Mainstreaming nutrition across project components and activities
· Strengthening coordination and partnerships with government institutions, civil society organizations, and development partners
· Maintaining close communication with district-level committees to align nutrition-sensitive interventions
· Engaging with national-level development partners on nutrition initiatives
