The DAAD Helmut Schmidt Scholarship is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and administered by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The program supports academically talented graduates with strong political, social, or community engagement by providing comprehensive financial support, including tuition funding, a monthly stipend, travel costs, insurance, and a fully funded German language course before the start of studies.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

Successful applicants will receive a comprehensive funding package that includes:

·       Full funding for a Master's degree at a participating German university.

·       Monthly stipend of 992 EUR.

·       A fully funded 6-month German language course before the academic program.

·       Round-trip travel allowance between Germany and the home country.

·       Comprehensive health, accident, and personal liability insurance.

·       Rent subsidy (where applicable).

·       Family allowance (where applicable).

·       Study and research grant.

·       Students enrolled in the Social Protection course receive 500 EUR per month during the mandatory online semester completed in their home country.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must:

·       Be citizens of eligible developing or emerging countries.

·       Hold a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with above-average academic performance (upper third of the graduating class).

·       Preferably have an academic background in:

o   Political Science

o   Public Policy

o   Public Administration

o   Economics

o   Law

o   Related social science fields

·       Demonstrate professional experience, internships, volunteer work, or strong political and social commitment.

·       Possess strong English language proficiency (or German language skills if required by the selected program).

·       Social Protection

Applicants may apply for up to two eligible Master's programs.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
