SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS:
The WUR offers many benefits to the students which include;

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
These are what you need to be eligible for this Scholarship;

1. You are a citizen of an African country.
2. You have applied for one of the master’s programs of Wageningen University & Research before the given deadline.
3. You are unconditionally admitted to this MSc program.
4. You are an excellent student with a First class honors degree and a GPA of 80% or higher in a bachelor's degree.
5. Preference is given to students who have not obtained a master’s degree Yet.

PROGRAMS ELIGIBLE FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP:
There are about four programs eligible for this scholarship and these are;

● Biotechnology
● Food Quality Management
● Agriculture
● Environmental sciences

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
Below are the documents that must be submitted while applying for this scholarship;

1. Motivation Letter
A statement explaining your academic and career goals, how the chosen program aligns with them, and your aspirations to contribute to African development.
2. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
A detailed CV highlighting academic qualifications, work experience, and other relevant accomplishments.
3. Proof of African Nationality
Official documentation, such as a passport or national ID, confirming citizenship of an African country.
4. Academic Transcripts
Certified copies of transcripts and certificates from previous educational institutions, showcasing your academic performance.
5. Recommendation Letters
Typically, two letters from referees who can attest to your academic abilities, character, and potential.
6. Admission Letter
Proof of unconditional admission to an eligible Master’s program at Wageningen University.
7. English proficiency test results
This is typically done through standardized tests like IELTS, TOEFL, or other equivalent language tests unless they meet specific exemptions (such as having prior education in English).

APPLICATION PROCEDURES:
To apply for the Africa Scholarship Programme (ASP) at Wageningen University, follow these steps:

1. Apply to a Master’s Program via the Scholarship application link given at the bottom of this page.
● Select an eligible MSc program at Wageningen University that aligns with your academic and career goals.
● Submit your application for the program via the Wageningen University application portal.
● Ensure your application is complete and meets the deadline (usually early February each year, e.g., 1 February 2025 for the 2025-2026 academic year

2. Receive an Unconditional Admission Offer
● Your eligibility for the scholarship depends on obtaining an unconditional offer of admission.
● This requires submitting all necessary academic documents, meeting language proficiency requirements, and fulfilling program prerequisites.

3. Submit the Scholarship Application
● Once admitted, you will be invited to apply for the ASP scholarship.
● The invitation includes specific instructions for completing the application process through the Wageningen student portal.

4. Prepare and Upload Required Documents
● Ensure you have all the necessary documents, including:
● Motivation letter
● Curriculum Vitae (CV)
● Proof of African nationality
● English proficiency test results
● Academic transcripts
● Recommendation letters

5. Selection Process
● Scholarship selection is competitive and based on academic excellence, motivation, and potential contribution to capacity building in Africa.
● Finalists may be contacted for additional information or interviews.

APPLICATION DEADLINE:
Here are the application deadlines for the Academic year 2025-2026:
1. 1 February 2025
Deadline to apply for an MSc program at Wageningen University.
2. 13 March 2025
The notification is sent to approximately 40 candidates selected for the next round.
3. 25 March 2025
The deadline to complete and submit the required assignment.
4. 8 April 2025
Shortlist announcement for online interviews (around 20 candidates).
5. 22 April – 1 May 2025
Online interviews are conducted via MS Teams.
6. 8 May 2025
Final results of the selection process communicated to applicants.
