McGill University in Canada, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, is calling for applications for its prestigious Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program for the 2025 academic year. This fully funded scholarship is open to exceptional students from across the African continent who wish to pursue a Master’s degree in various fields related to public health, nutrition, public policy, and sustainable agriculture. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To qualify for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at McGill University, applicants must:
• Be a citizen of and living in an African country
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a field closely related to the chosen program
• Have never registered for or completed a Master’s degree
• Be 35 years old or younger at the time of application
• Demonstrate exceptional leadership, service, and community engagement
• Show a clear financial need that has limited educational opportunities
• Meet academic admission requirements for McGill University
• Have a valid passport and be admissible to Canada as an international student
• Applicants with First Class Honors or equivalent will have a stronger chance of selection

NOTE: Those holding dual citizenship, permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status in the US, Canada, UK, or EU are not eligible.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

2. Register and attend one of the official information sessions to receive the application link.
3. Complete the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program application form.
4. If shortlisted, submit additional documents as requested.
5. Successful pre-screened applicants will be invited to apply to McGill University with a fee waiver.
