CALL FOR FUNDED SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS AT CUR


Catholic University of Rwanda (CUR) invites eligible candidates to apply for funded scholarship opportunities for the September 2026 intake in selected Health Sciences programmes. Interested and qualified applicants are encouraged to submit their applications within the announced application period. Register for our coaching class for the Duolingo English Test

 

The scholarship programme is offered by the Catholic University of Rwanda in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH) within the framework of the 4×4 Strategy. The initiative aims to support the training of qualified health professionals in Rwanda.

 

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

Successful scholarship beneficiaries will receive full tuition fee funding for the duration of their eligible Nursing or Midwifery programme.

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

 

·       Have completed general secondary education with one of the following principal subject combinations:

o   Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB)

o   Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology (MCB)

o   Biology, Chemistry and Geography (BCG)

o   Associate Nursing Programme

·       Candidates who completed secondary school from 2024 onwards must have at least Grade E in both Biology and Chemistry.

·       Candidates who completed secondary school before 2024 must have at least Grade C in both Biology and Chemistry.

·       A2 Nurses must have obtained a minimum of 60% marks and Grade E in both Biology and Chemistry, or in Fundamentals of Nursing and Clinical Attachment.

·       Applicants must meet the minimum admission requirements established by the Higher Education Council (HEC) and the Catholic University of Rwanda.

 

AVAILABLE PROGRAMS

The scholarships are available for the following undergraduate programmes:

 

·       Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Honours

·       Bachelor of Science in Midwifery with Honours

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Applicants are required to submit the following documents through the online application portal:

 

·       Senior Six (S6) Certificate

·       Valid National ID or Passport

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Interested candidates should apply online through the Catholic University of Rwanda Online Application Portal.

 

Applicants should:

 

1.     Complete the online application form using the link at the bottom of this page.

2.     Select the relevant Nursing or Midwifery programme.

3.     Upload the required documents, including the S6 Certificate and National ID or Passport.

4.     Submit the application before the deadline.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Candidates who meet the minimum admission and institutional requirements will be required to sit for an admission test. Shortlisted candidates will receive further communication regarding the date and arrangements for the test.

 

The final selection of scholarship beneficiaries will be based on their admission test performance.

 

Successful scholarship recipients will sign a contract agreement with the Ministry of Health to support their absorption into the health system after graduation. Beneficiaries will also be required to serve for a specified minimum period.

 

Please note that students who are currently receiving another scholarship funded by the Government of Rwanda or its partners are not eligible to apply.
