CHANCEN INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP AT EACC


East African Christian College (EACC) is inviting motivated and qualified Rwandan students to apply for a scholarship and student financing opportunity for the September 2026 intake. Eligible applicants can receive support to pursue selected Diploma, Advanced Diploma, and Bachelor's degree programmes through an innovative Income Share Agreement (ISA) financing model. The opportunity is offered through a partnership between East African Christian College (EACC) and Chancen International Rwanda. Under the ISA, commonly known as the “Study Now, Pay Later” model, eligible students receive education financing support and repay a portion of their income after completing their studies and earning at least RWF 80,000 per month

 

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

Successful applicants approved for Chancen International's ISA financing will receive support toward their education costs, allowing them to focus on their studies without paying the full cost of their education upfront.

 

Approved students will also be required to make a semesterly commitment payment as follows:

 

·       Advanced Diploma in General Nursing and Advanced Diploma in Midwifery: RWF 50,000 per semester.

·       Diploma of Education in Child Development: RWF 10,000 per semester.

·       Bachelor of Business Administration in Monitoring and Evaluation: RWF 10,000 per semester.

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1.     Diploma of Education in Child Development: 

 

·       Applicants who completed secondary education in Rwanda before 2024 must possess an A2 Certificate with at least two principal passes, in any combination studied.

·       Applicants who completed secondary education in Rwanda from 2024 onwards must hold an Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education, in any combination studied.

·       Applicants who studied outside Rwanda must provide an equivalence certificate for their foreign academic qualification.

 

2.     Bachelor of Business Administration in Monitoring and Evaluation

Applicants who completed secondary education in Rwanda before 2024 must possess an A2 Certificate with at least two principal passes in one of the following combinations:

 

·       Accounting

·       MPG – Mathematics, Physics and Geography

·       MEG – Mathematics, Economics and Geography

·       MCE – Mathematics, Computer Science and Economics

·       MPC – Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science

·       MCB – Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology

·       SME – Science and Mathematics Education

·       HEG – History, Economics and Geography

·       HEL – History, Economics and Literature

·       Any TVET programme with Mathematics examined at the national level

 

Applicants who completed secondary education in Rwanda from 2024 onwards must hold an Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education in one of the eligible options listed above.

 

3.     Advanced Diploma in General Nursing and Advanced Diploma in Midwifery

Applicants must possess an A2 Certificate in one of the following combinations or programmes:

 

·       MCB – Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology

·       PCB – Physics, Chemistry and Biology

·       BCG – Biology, Chemistry and Geography

·       Associate Nursing Practice (ANP)

 

Applicants who completed secondary school before 2024 must have obtained grades of A, B, C, or D in both Biology and Chemistry and must not have obtained an F in Mathematics, Physics, or Geography.

 

Applicants who completed secondary school from 2024 onwards must have obtained grades of A, B, C, D, E, or S in both Biology and Chemistry.

 

A2 Nurses must possess:

 

·       An A2 Nursing Certificate; and

·       A valid License of Practice.

 

Applicants who studied outside Rwanda must provide an equivalence certificate for their foreign academic qualification.

 

AVAILABLE PROGRAMS

The scholarship student financing opportunity is available for the following programmes:

 

1.     Diploma of Education in Child Development

2.     Bachelor of Business Administration in Monitoring and Evaluation

3.     Advanced Diploma in General Nursing

4.     Advanced Diploma in Midwifery

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

The initial application should be submitted through the official EACC application form. Applicants who are admitted by EACC and proceed to the Chancen ISA financing stage will be required to provide additional documents.

 

Applicant Requirements

Applicants for ISA financing must:

 

·       Be between 18 and 35 years old.

·       Provide a Rwandan National ID.

·       Provide a passport-size portrait photograph.

·       Provide a birth certificate.

·       Obtain a CRB credit report from TransUnion Rwanda.

·       Submit a signed Residence Confirmation Form.

·       Pay the required ISA application fee.

 

Guardian Requirements

Applicants will also need guardians who meet Chancen's requirements. Each guardian must:

 

·       Be between 25 and 65 years old.

·       Provide a Rwandan National ID.

·       Provide a passport-size portrait photograph.

·       Submit a signed Residence Confirmation Form.

·       Provide the Civil Status Certificate of one guardian.

 

A guardian must be a Rwandan who knows the student's behaviour and is willing and able to confirm the student's interest and commitment to study under Chancen's ISA financing model.

 

Please note that legally married couples are considered as one guardian for this purpose. Therefore, applicants using a legally married couple as guardians will need one additional guardian.

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Interested and eligible candidates should follow these steps:

 

Step 1: Complete and submit the official EACC scholarship application form through the link at the bottom.

Step 2: Wait for the EACC admission process and decision.

Step 3: Applicants admitted to EACC must then meet Chancen International's ISA eligibility and application requirements.

Step 4: Eligible admitted students will be required to attend an ISA workshop or meeting together with their guardians before the start of classes.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Meeting EACC's academic admission requirements does not automatically guarantee approval for Chancen International's ISA financing. Applicants must first be admitted to EACC and then successfully complete Chancen's separate ISA assessment and application process.

 

Students who are approved under the ISA financing model must make the required semesterly commitment payment on time. Chancen disburses semester payments to EACC only after the student has successfully paid the required commitment contribution.
