Taiwan Scholarship Program 2026
The Ministry of Education (MOE) of Taiwan invites applications from outstanding Turkish students for the Taiwan Scholarship Program 2026. This prestigious scholarship is designed to support high-achieving students who wish to pursue undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral studies in Taiwan. Prospective applicants are encouraged to review the Taiwan Scholarship Program Directions carefully, particularly Article 4 (Eligibility) and Article 5 (Required Documents), before submitting their applications. The scholarship is offered in partnership with Taiwan’s leading universities and colleges, providing international students with access to world-class academic programs, innovative research opportunities, and an immersive cultural experience. The MOE Taiwan Scholarship fosters academic excellence and cross-cultural understanding while supporting students financially throughout their studies in Taiwan.
SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS
Recipients of the Taiwan Scholarship will receive:
- Tuition and Miscellaneous Expenses: Up to NTD 40,000 per semester for approved tuition and study-related fees. Recipients are responsible for any fees exceeding this amount, as well as administration, thesis supervision, insurance, accommodation, and internet costs.
- Living Allowance:
a) Undergraduate students: NTD 15,000 per month
b) Master’s & Doctoral students: NTD 20,000 per month
- Duration of Scholarship:
a) Undergraduate programs: up to 4 years
b) Master’s programs: up to 2 years
c) Doctoral programs: up to 4 years
d) Maximum total period for any recipient: 5 years
- Scholarship payments commence when the recipient begins their studies and continue until graduation, completion of the scholarship period, or if the scholarship is revoked due to withdrawal, suspension, or expulsion.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
· Be a Turkish national with a secondary school diploma (for undergraduate studies) or a post-secondary degree (for graduate studies).
· Possess an excellent academic record and demonstrate good moral character.
· Ineligible applicants include:
o R.O.C. nationals or overseas Taiwanese students
o Students already registered at a Taiwanese university/college (except for higher-degree progression)
o Exchange or dual/joint degree students admitted under academic cooperation agreements
o Previous Taiwan Scholarship recipients exceeding five years or with revoked scholarships
o Recipients of other Taiwanese government or institution scholarships (except approved tuition subsidies by the host university)
GPA Requirements:
- Undergraduate: above 3.0 (on a 4.5 scale)
- Graduate: above 3.5 (on a 4.5 scale)
AVAILABLE PROGRAMS
The scholarship is available for:
- Bachelor’s Degree Programs
- Master’s Degree Programs
- Doctoral Degree Programs
Applicants must apply directly to their chosen university or college in Taiwan. Each institution sets its own admission deadline.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Applicants must submit the following postmarked no later than March 31, 2026:
- Taiwan Scholarship Application Form
- Photocopy of passport or proof of nationality
- Photocopy of highest academic award and transcripts (translated into English or Chinese, if necessary)
- Proof of application to a Taiwanese university/college
- Language proficiency certificate
- Two sealed and signed reference letters from principals, university presidents, professors, or supervisors
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
- Ensure eligibility and read the Taiwan Scholarship Program Directions carefully.
- Apply directly to the Taiwanese university/college of choice before its admission deadline.
- Submit all required documents to the relevant authorities before March 31, 2026.
- Shortlisted candidates will be notified individually for interviews by April 30, 2026. Unsuccessful applicants in the first round will not receive further notification.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- The scholarship year begins on September 1 and ends on August 31 of the following year.
- Recipients must register at their university/college on time; deferral is only permitted with prior approval from the MOE and the university.
- Living allowance is provided from the start of attendance until the scholarship period expires or the student graduates.
