Flinders University warmly invites applications for the 2026 Business, Government and Law Reconciliation Scholarship for Indigenous Research. This prestigious scholarship is designed to support and encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who wish to undertake research projects that advance understanding and recognition of Indigenous cultures, histories, knowledge, and rights. The scholarship is administered by the College of Business, Government and Law at Flinders University, a leading institution committed to fostering research excellence and promoting Indigenous perspectives within the fields of business, government, and law. Through this scholarship, the College aims to support research projects aligned with the five critical dimensions identified by Reconciliation Australia: race relations, equality and equity, institutional integrity, unity, and historical acceptance.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

  • A total value of AUD $5,000, paid in two equal instalments of $2,500 after the census date of each semester.
  • Number of scholarships awarded depends on available funding.
  • Opportunity to conduct research that contributes to reconciliation and recognition of Indigenous cultures.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must:

  • Be currently completing or have completed an undergraduate degree.
  • Be accepted into an Honours program, or the final 36 units of a four-year Honours program, within the College of Business, Government and Law at Flinders University.
  • Be commencing an Honours research project aligned with one or more of the five critical dimensions identified by Reconciliation Australia: race relations, equality and equity, institutional integrity, unity, and historical acceptance.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • Academic transcripts demonstrating current or completed undergraduate study.
  • Confirmation of acceptance into an Honours program within the relevant College.
  • Research proposal outlining the proposed Honours research project, including its relevance to reconciliation and Indigenous studies.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

  • Applicants will be assessed based on academic merit and the quality and relevance of their proposed research project.
  • Selection is conducted by a Committee within the College of Business, Government and Law.
  • Successful candidates may be invited for an interview as part of the selection process.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • The scholarship is funded and administered by the College of Business, Government and Law at Flinders University.
  • Funding will continue as long as sufficient resources are available.
  • Projects supported by this scholarship should contribute to meaningful reconciliation outcomes and enhance understanding of Indigenous histories and knowledge.
