ITEME Rwanda Program for Refugee and Vulnerable Youth

Are you a recent high school graduate from a refugee or vulnerable host community in Rwanda? Do you dream of attending university but feel unprepared or unsure about your next steps? The ITEME Program is now accepting applications for its upcoming four-month training program designed to support your transition from secondary to higher education. This is a life-changing opportunity to develop the skills, confidence, and knowledge you need to pursue a successful university education in Rwanda β and beyond.
The Iteme Program is a fully sponsored initiative developed to bridge the gap between high school and university for refugee and vulnerable Rwandan students. The program equips participants with English proficiency, essential digital skills, and soft skills that are critical in todayβs academic and professional world. Participants also receive guidance on tertiary education pathways, university application support, and career readiness β making it an essential stepping stone for anyone aspiring to pursue higher education in Rwanda. π Register now for our new programs at MK SCHOLARS.
SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS:
β’ Intensive training in English, digital literacy, and soft skills
β’ Opportunity to earn a fully funded scholarship in Rwandan universities like Kepler College, etc

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
1. For Refugee Applicants:
β’ Must have completed high school (e.g., passed Rwanda National Exams or earned a high school diploma from another country)
β’ Must submit proof of refugee status (Refugee ID, Proof of Registration [PoR], or Asylum Seeker Certificate)
β’ Must reside near or in a refugee camp in Rwanda
2. For Host Community (Rwandan) Applicants:
β’ Must have completed high school (S6 Certificate)
β’ Must submit National ID
β’ Must come from vulnerable households living within host communities

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
β’ Senior 5 (S5) Report Card
β’ Senior 6 (S6) Report Card
β’ High School Diploma (NESA Certificate)
APPLICATION PROCEDURES:
All submitted applications will be reviewed carefully. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited to take an entrance assessment exam. The most promising students will be selected to join the program and begin their journey toward higher education success.
