The Higher Education Council (HEC) invites eligible Rwandan students to apply for Algeria Government Scholarships for the 2026/2027 academic year. The scholarships are available for Bachelor’s degree studies in several fields, including Medical Sciences, Architecture, Urban Planning and Urban Studies, Mathematics and Computer Science, and Science and Technology. Register for 2nd intake of our coaching class for the Duolingo English Test  

The scholarships are offered under the bilateral cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Rwanda and the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria. The programme is coordinated in Rwanda by the Higher Education Council (HEC), while the scholarships are provided by the Government of Algeria.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

Successful candidates will receive scholarships to pursue Bachelor’s degree studies in Algeria in the fields listed below. The scholarships are provided under the bilateral cooperation programme between the governments of Rwanda and Algeria.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

·       Be a Rwandan student eligible to apply for the scholarship.

·       Have obtained a Senior Six result slip or certificate with a score of at least 80%, or an equivalent qualification, in the 2026 Senior Six National Examinations.

·       Applicants must not already be enrolled in a local or foreign university.

·       Meet the requirements for the programme being applied for.

·       Submit a complete application through the official HEC online application system.

AVAILABLE PROGRAMS

The Algerian Government Scholarships are available for Bachelor’s degree studies in the following fields:

·       Medical Sciences

·       Architecture

·       Urban Planning and Urban Studies

·       Mathematics and Computer Science

·       Science and Technology

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Applicants should prepare and submit the following documents:

1.     Application letter addressed to the Director General of the Higher Education Council (HEC).

2.     Copy of a valid passport or National Identity Card.

3.     Copies of the original-notified certificate and transcripts or result slip.

4.     Birth certificate.

5.     Medical certificate.

6.     Curriculum Vitae (CV).

7.     Recent color passport-size photograph.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Applications must be submitted online through the HEC application portal.

1.     Open the scholarship link at the bottom of this page

2.     New users should sign up to create an account.

3.     Log in to the system after creating an account.

4.     Complete the application form and upload all required documents.

5.     Submit the completed application before the deadline.
