Africa Improved Foods (AIF) Rwanda is inviting qualified and experienced professionals to apply for three available positions in Kigali. Africa Improved Foods is a Public-Private Partnership focused on addressing malnutrition by producing nutritious, high-quality fortified foods. Successful candidates will join AIF Rwanda and contribute to its operations, people development, supply chain performance, and quality assurance activities.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must meet the specific academic and professional requirements for the position they are applying for.

·       Supply Planner: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, or a related field, with 2–4 years of relevant experience.

·       People and Organizational Development Lead: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field, with at least 8 years of progressive HR experience focused on L&D, organizational development, or talent management.

·       Microbiology Lab Analyst: First or Second-Class Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or a related field, with at least 2 years of QA/QC experience, preferably in the food industry.

·       Applicants should have strong communication, analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills relevant to their position.

·       Candidates must be able to work effectively in demanding environments and meet required deadlines.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS

Africa Improved Foods Rwanda has 3 vacancies, with one position available for each role:

1.     Supply Planner1 position

2.     People and Organizational Development Lead1 position

3.     Microbiology Lab Analyst – 1 position

All positions are based in Kigali, Rwanda and are offered under open-ended contract terms.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Supply Planner

The successful candidate will:

·       Manage inventory and support production to meet customer requirements.

·       Monitor inventory KPIs, including OOS, OTIF, forecast accuracy, and inventory days of stock.

·       Support supply forecasting and risk management.

·       Contribute to continuous improvement of supply chain processes.

·       Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

·       Ensure product availability while balancing service levels and cost efficiency.

2. People and Organizational Development Lead

Key responsibilities include:

·       Design and improve organizational learning and development frameworks.

·       Conduct capability gap analyses and develop targeted learning interventions.

·       Manage individual development planning processes.

·       Manage the Learning Management System and learning content.

·       Develop graduate, internship, and apprenticeship programs.

·       Manage the performance management cycle, including goal setting and performance reviews.

·       Support talent management and succession planning.

·       Develop career progression pathways.

·       Lead employee engagement and organizational culture initiatives.

·       Support organizational design and change management.

·       Develop competency frameworks and career architecture.

·       Analyse workforce data to identify trends, risks, and development opportunities.

3. Microbiology Lab Analyst

The successful candidate will:

·       Inspect incoming raw materials, in-process products, and finished products.

·       Report conformity and non-conformity findings.

·       Assess hygiene conditions of testing equipment and the factory environment.

·       Provide technical laboratory expertise during problem-solving activities.

·       Identify microbial flora associated with processing factors and environments.

·       Apply Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

·       Prepare and handle media, reagents, reference standards, and other laboratory materials.

·       Safely handle and store laboratory equipment, chemicals, and glassware.

·       Develop SOPs for sample collection, preparation, inoculation, incubation, enumeration, and pathogen detection.

·       Prepare test reports and certificates of analysis.

·       Develop microbiological result trends for ingredients, personnel, environment, and finished products.

·       Ensure proper security and management of laboratory equipment and materials.

·       Identify and request laboratory equipment, chemicals, and consumables when required.
