The Higher Education Council (HEC) has announced that it has fully transitioned to a new online system for Equivalence Certificate applications, now available through Irembo.

WHO NEEDS AN EQUIVALENCE CERTIFICATE?

An Equivalence Certificate is important for students who want to pursue studies in Rwanda using qualifications obtained outside the Rwandan education system.

This includes:

·       International students who want to come and study in Rwanda.

·       🇷🇼 Rwandan students who studied under foreign education systems, such as Cambridge or other international qualifications, and want to continue their studies in Rwanda.

·       Students whose academic qualifications need to be officially recognized for admission or further studies in Rwanda.

IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM HEC

Effective immediately, all Equivalence Certificate applications must be submitted through the new Irembo system.

Apply through the new Irembo platform (irembo.gov.rw)

Students who previously submitted an application through the old system but have not yet received their Equivalence Certificate are advised to reapply through the new system and follow the updated requirements.
