Site Technician

Eligible qualifications include:

·       A2 Certificate in Agronomy (5 years' experience)

·       Advanced Diploma in Crop Production (3 years)

·       Advanced Diploma in Agriculture Sciences (1 year)

·       Advanced Diploma in Agroforestry (3 years)

·       Advanced Diploma in Forestry (3 years)

·       Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture

·       Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy (1 year)

·       Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Sciences (1 year)

·       Bachelor's Degree in Agroforestry (1 year)

·       Bachelor's Degree in Forestry (1 year)

·       Bachelor's Degree in Soil Sciences (0–1 year)

·       Bachelor's Degree in Soil and Water Management (1 year)

·       Bachelor's Degree in Crop Sciences (1 year)

Topographer

·       Advanced Diploma in Surveying (3 years)

·       Advanced Diploma in Land Surveying (3 years)

·       Advanced Diploma in Public Works (3 years)

·       Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture Sciences (1 year)

·       A2 Certificate in Public Works (5 years)

·       A2 Certificate in Agriculture (5 years)

Applicants should possess GIS knowledge, land surveying skills, map reading abilities, communication skills, teamwork, decision-making skills, and fluency in Kinyarwanda, English, and/or French.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Site Technician

·       Supervise terracing and soil conservation works.

·       Coordinate trench excavation and bund construction.

·       Establish grass strips and agroforestry plantations.

·       Rehabilitate degraded progressive and radical terraces.

·       Construct and rehabilitate drainage systems and check dams.

·       Restore soil fertility and stabilize gullies, riverbanks, and wetlands.

·       Support environmental protection and erosion control activities.

·       Perform other duties assigned by project supervisors.

Topographer

·       Produce contour lines using dump levels and A-frames.

·       Read maps and measure slopes.

·       Analyze GIS data and prepare maps.

·       Produce and submit shapefiles of completed works.

·       Demarcate land for terraces and drainage systems.

·       Calculate terrace dimensions and spacing.

·       Prepare field reports and complete assigned surveying tasks.
