The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a German federal enterprise dedicated to international cooperation for sustainable development. Through its Rwanda and Burundi Country Office, GIZ implements projects funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the European Union, and other international partners across sectors including sustainable economic development, good governance, climate and energy, digital transformation, and regional development in the Great Lakes Region.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants should meet the following minimum qualifications:

·       Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance Management, Economics, or a related field.

·       CPA or ACCA certification is an added advantage.

·       At least 3 years of professional experience in a similar position.

·       Previous experience with GIZ is an added advantage.

·       Strong knowledge of MS Excel and SAP S/4HANA.

·       Excellent communication skills in English.

·       Knowledge of French or German is an added advantage.

·       Strong understanding of financial, accounting, procurement, and administrative processes.

·       Ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment.

·       Willingness to continuously develop professional knowledge and skills.

Contract Duration: 01 September 2026 – 30 September 2027 (Renewable upon performance review)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Commercial Auditor

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

·       Reviewing procurement, service contract, and supplier invoices for accuracy and compliance.

·       Monitoring invoice processing and maintaining invoice tracking systems.

·       Verifying local contribution expenditures and supporting financial documentation.

·       Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and GIZ financial procedures.

·       Resolving invoice discrepancies with suppliers and project teams.

·       Preparing weekly invoice monitoring reports.

·       Supporting financial administration and compliance activities.

·       Assisting the Finance Manager with additional finance-related tasks.

·       Maintaining confidentiality of financial information.

Finance Specialist

Key responsibilities include:

Performing financial accounting and bookkeeping using SAP S/4HANA.

Managing accounts payable and receivable.

Reviewing, posting, and reconciling financial transactions.

Processing supplier and partner payments.

Preparing receivable ageing reports and financial reconciliations.

Producing periodic financial reports.

Supporting internal and external audits.

Ensuring compliance with GIZ financial policies and Rwandan statutory requirements.

Reporting financial discrepancies and control weaknesses.

Assisting the Finance Manager with other assigned duties.
