Muhanga District invites qualified and motivated candidates to apply for 50 employment opportunities in the construction and engineering sector. The recruitment covers vacancies for Foreman/Forewoman, Site Engineers, and Civil Engineer. Successful candidates will be responsible for supervising construction projects, ensuring quality standards, coordinating site activities, and supporting the implementation of district infrastructure projects.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must meet the qualifications and experience required for the position they are applying for.

Foreman / Forewoman (38 Positions)

·       Advanced Diploma in Building Construction with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or

·       A2 Certificate in Building Construction with at least 2 years of relevant experience.

·       Must be registered with the Institute of Engineering Rwanda (IER).

Site Engineers (11 Positions)

·       Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or

·       Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

·       Must be registered with the Institute of Engineering Rwanda (IER).

Civil Engineer (1 Position)

·       Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or

·       Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 7 years of relevant experience.

·       Must be registered with the Institute of Engineering Rwanda (IER).

Required Competencies

Applicants should demonstrate:

·       Fluency in Kinyarwanda, English, and/or French (knowledge of all languages is an added advantage; Swahili is an added advantage for engineering positions).

·       Excellent communication and reporting skills.

·       Strong coordination, planning, and organizational abilities.

·       Teamwork and collaboration skills.

·       High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.

·       Good interpersonal skills.

·       Ability to maintain confidentiality.

·       Experience in infrastructure and construction projects.

·       Knowledge of construction planning, reporting, and prioritizing tasks.

·       Experience with homegrown construction solutions and efficient resource utilization is an added advantage.

·       Knowledge of engineering software and climate-resilient construction is an added advantage for the Civil Engineer position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Foreman / Forewoman

·       Guide masons and construction teams using approved technical drawings.

·       Supervise construction activities and ensure compliance with standards.

·       Monitor material usage and equipment management.

·       Prepare site reports and maintain daily site records.

·       Report construction progress to the Site Engineer.

·       Ensure compliance with environmental, social, and safety requirements.

Site Engineers

·        Review engineering drawings and project specifications.

·        Conduct site surveys and establish project layouts.

·        Coordinate construction schedules and workflows.

·        Supervise contractors and subcontractors.

·        Implement quality control measures and safety procedures.

·        Monitor project progress, budgets, and resource utilization.

·        Resolve technical issues encountered during construction.

·        Prepare project progress reports and maintain site documentation.

Civil Engineer

·       Plan, design, and supervise infrastructure development works.

·       Prepare technical specifications and Terms of Reference (ToRs).

·       Supervise contractors and monitor project implementation.

·       Assess project sites and recommend engineering solutions.

·       Support procurement activities and contract management.

·       Validate technical deliverables and ensure compliance with engineering standards.

·       Coordinate technical teams and prepare construction progress reports.

·       Perform other duties assigned by the district.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
