Nyabihu District is inviting qualified and experienced Rwandan professionals to apply for various engineering positions aimed at supporting infrastructure development and construction projects across the district. Successful candidates will play key roles in planning, supervising, coordinating, and monitoring construction projects to ensure they meet the required technical standards, quality, and timelines. Applicants will undergo both a Psychometric Test and a Written Examination as part of the recruitment process.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must meet the qualifications and experience requirements for the position they are applying for:

Civil Engineer

·       Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience; or

·       Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 7 years of relevant experience.

·       Must be registered with the Institute of Engineering Rwanda (IER).

Site Engineer

·       Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience; or

·       Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

·       Must be registered with the Institute of Engineering Rwanda (IER).

Foreman/Forewoman

·       Advanced Diploma in Building and Construction with at least 2 years of relevant experience; or

·       A2 Certificate in Building Construction with at least 2 years of relevant experience.

·       Must be registered with the Institute of Engineering Rwanda (IER).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Civil Engineer

·       Plan, design, and supervise site development works.

·       Prepare technical specifications and Terms of Reference (ToRs).

·       Supervise contractors and ensure quality project implementation.

·       Coordinate district-level construction activities.

·       Assess site conditions and provide engineering solutions.

·       Validate technical deliverables and ensure contract compliance.

·       Support procurement processes.

·       Monitor project progress and prepare implementation reports.

·       Coordinate technical teams and perform other assigned duties.

Site Engineer

·       Review engineering and architectural drawings.

·       Conduct site surveys and setting out activities.

·       Ensure availability of construction materials.

·       Assist in cost estimation and budget management.

·       Develop work schedules and coordinate site operations.

·       Identify project risks and support safety planning.

·       Supervise contractors and subcontractors.

·       Implement quality control procedures and inspections.

·       Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

·       Resolve technical issues during construction.

·       Monitor project schedules and budgets.

·       Maintain project documentation and prepare progress reports.

Foreman/Forewoman

·       Supervise masons and construction workers.

·       Guide construction activities using approved drawings.

·       Monitor compliance with construction standards.

·       Manage construction materials, tools, and equipment.

·       Prepare material utilization reports.

·       Maintain daily site records and logbooks.

·       Submit daily and weekly progress reports.

·       Ensure compliance with environmental and social safeguard standards.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Applicants should prepare the necessary documents required by the recruitment system, including:

·       Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).

·       Academic degree or certificate.

·       Proof of relevant work experience.

·       Institute of Engineering Rwanda (IER) registration certificate.

·       National ID or Passport.
