Gakenke District is inviting qualified and experienced Rwandan professionals to apply for 49 vacant positions in the construction and engineering sector. These opportunities are aimed at supporting infrastructure and housing development projects within the district.JOIN OUR Coaching class for ALU ENGLISH TEST

The available positions include 38 Foreman/Forewoman, 10 Site Engineers, and 1 Civil Engineer. Successful candidates will play a key role in planning, supervising, monitoring, and ensuring the quality of construction projects while adhering to engineering standards and environmental safeguards.

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must meet the qualifications and experience requirements for their preferred position.

Foreman / Forewoman (38 Positions)

·       Advanced Diploma in Building & Construction with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or

·       A2 Certificate in Building Construction with at least 2 years of relevant experience.

·       Must be registered with the Institute of Engineering Rwanda (IER).

·       Experience in infrastructure projects and construction using homegrown solutions is required.

·       Knowledge of construction planning, reporting, and task prioritization is an added advantage.

Site Engineer (10 Positions)

·       Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or

·       Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

·       Must be registered with the Institute of Engineering Rwanda (IER).

·       Experience in infrastructure and housing projects is required.

·       Knowledge of engineering software and climate-resilient construction is an added advantage.

Civil Engineer (1 Position)

·       Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or

·       Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 7 years of relevant experience.

·       Must be registered with the Institute of Engineering Rwanda (IER).

·       Experience in infrastructure and housing projects is required.

·       Knowledge of engineering software and climate-resilient construction is an added advantage.

 

AVAILABLE POSITIONS

·  Foreman / Forewoman: 38 Vacancies

·  Site Engineer: 10 Vacancies

·  Civil Engineer: 1 Vacancy

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Foreman / Forewoman

·       Guide masons and site workers using approved technical drawings.

·       Supervise construction activities and ensure compliance with engineering standards.

·       Monitor proper use of materials, equipment, and tools.

·       Maintain site logbooks and prepare material utilization reports.

·       Submit daily and weekly progress reports.

·       Ensure compliance with environmental, social, and safeguard standards.

Site Engineer

·       Review engineering drawings and technical specifications.

·       Conduct site surveys and set out construction works.

·       Coordinate project schedules and site activities.

·       Supervise contractors and subcontractors.

·       Monitor project quality, safety, budgets, and timelines.

·       Resolve technical issues and ensure efficient use of project resources.

·       Prepare project progress reports and maintain accurate site records.

Civil Engineer

·       Plan, design, and supervise infrastructure development works.

·       Prepare technical specifications and Terms of Reference (ToRs).

·       Coordinate district-level implementation of engineering projects.

·       Supervise contractors and validate technical deliverables.

·       Support procurement activities.

·       Monitor project implementation and prepare progress reports.

·       Ensure effective coordination among technical teams.

·       Perform other duties assigned by the employer.

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

·       Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).

·       Academic degree or diploma certificates.

·       Proof of relevant work experience.

·       Institute of Engineering Rwanda (IER) registration certificate.

·       National Identification Card.
