The Society for Family Health (SFH) Rwanda invites qualified and motivated candidates to apply for six positions under the Malaria Molecular Surveillance (MMS) Project. These opportunities are aimed at strengthening Rwanda’s capacity to monitor malaria drug and diagnostic resistance while supporting the country’s malaria elimination efforts.Register Now for new programs at MK SCHOLARS

The MMS Project is funded by the Gates Foundation and implemented through a partnership between the Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC) and SFH Rwanda. The project seeks to establish a National Malaria Molecular Surveillance System and National Reference Genomic Laboratory to generate real-time molecular data that will guide evidence-based policy and programmatic decisions.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must meet the specific academic qualifications, professional experience, and competencies required for their respective positions. Candidates should demonstrate strong technical expertise, communication skills, professionalism, and commitment to public health goals.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS

1.     Senior Laboratory Advisor – Malaria Molecular Surveillance Project (1 Position)

2.     Laboratory Scientists – Malaria Molecular Surveillance Project (4 Positions)

3.     Digital Content Creator – Malaria Molecular Surveillance Project (1 Position)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Senior Laboratory Advisor:

·       Support molecular laboratory testing and surveillance activities.

·       Ensure laboratory quality assurance and quality control.

·       Provide technical support and mentorship to laboratory staff.

·       Participate in data analysis, reporting, and scientific dissemination.

·       Support laboratory equipment maintenance and biosafety compliance.

Laboratory Scientists:

·       Conduct malaria microscopy and molecular testing.

·       Ensure proper sample handling, storage, and tracking.

·       Maintain laboratory records and support data analysis.

·       Participate in quality assurance programs.

·       Support training and mentorship activities.

Digital Content Creator:

·       Design digital content for malaria awareness campaigns.

·       Produce videos, graphics, animations, and social media materials.

·       Document project activities through photography and videography.

·       Support community engagement and health communication initiatives.

·       Contribute to innovative digital communication strategies.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Applicants must submit:

·        Application letter addressed to the Executive Director.

·       Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).

·       Copies of academic degrees or certificates.

·       Copies of professional qualifications.

·       Copies of professional training certificates.

Additional requirement for Laboratory Scientists:

·        Copy of a valid professional laboratory practice license in Rwanda.
