The scholarship is offered by the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT University), one of Australia's leading research institutions. The Research Stipend Scholarships (RSS) are funded by the Australian Government, while the RMIT Research Stipend Scholarships (RRSS) are funded by RMIT University. Applicants who apply through the university's research scholarship rounds are automatically considered for all eligible scholarship opportunities.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

Successful applicants will receive:

·       Full tuition fee coverage for the duration of the program.

·       Annual living stipend of AUD 36,245 (pro rata for full-time study).

·       Relocation allowance of up to AUD 1,540.

·       RTP International Tuition Fee Offset Scholarship (RIFOS) or RMIT Research International Tuition Fee Scholarship (RRITFS) for international students.

·       RTP Fee Offset Scholarship for eligible Australian and New Zealand citizens and permanent residents.

·       Exemption from tuition fees for the maximum approved candidature period.

·       Paid sick leave, maternity leave, and parenting leave.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must:

·       Hold a Bachelor's degree requiring at least four years of full-time study in a relevant discipline and awarded with honours.

·       Have achieved at least a credit average in the final year of study.

·       Alternatively, possess a Master's degree containing a research component equivalent to at least 25% of one full-time academic year.

·       Demonstrate an equivalent level of academic achievement through previous studies, relevant work experience, research publications, or research activities.

·       Not have previously completed a graduate research program at the same or higher qualification level.

·       Not have previously held an RMIT or Commonwealth-funded postgraduate research scholarship unless it was terminated within six months of commencement.
