JOB OPPORTUNITIES AT COOPÉRATIVE MINIÈRE KABABARA-GIKINGO (COMIKAGI)
Coopérative Minière Kababara-Gikingo (COMIKAGI), a mining cooperative operating in Ruli Sector, Gakenke District, Northern Province, is inviting qualified and motivated Rwandan professionals to apply for available positions within the organization.Register now for new programs at MK SCHOLARS
The cooperative is seeking competent candidates to support its mining exploration, geological assessment, and mining operations. Successful applicants will contribute to improving productivity, sustainability, and compliance with industry standards in the mining sector.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must:
• Be Rwandan citizens.
• Demonstrate high standards of integrity and professionalism.
• Possess the required academic qualifications for the position applied for.
• Be proficient in Kinyarwanda and English. Knowledge of French is an added advantage for the Mining Engineer position.
• Have strong technical and analytical skills relevant to the mining industry.
AVAILABLE POSITIONS

Geologist (1 Position)
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.

Mining Engineer (1 Position)
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or a related mining discipline.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Geologist
• Collect and document geological and geochemical data from exploration and mining activities.
• Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and structural mapping of mineral veins and rock formations.
• Analyze and interpret geological data.
• Monitor changes in mineral grades within underground veins.
• Ensure data collection complies with established standards and procedures.
• Support mineral exploration and field research programs.
• Maintain accurate geological records and laboratory results.
• Prepare maps, charts, and technical reports for management review.
• Comply with safety, environmental protection, and operational standards.
• Participate in team meetings and provide regular progress updates.
• Learn and utilize geological software applications.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Mining Engineer
• Monitor mining and exploration activities within COMIKAGI.
• Ensure mining operations comply with government regulations, safety standards, and occupational health requirements.
• Monitor environmental protection measures, including water management and pollution prevention.
• Develop and train staff on best mining practices and operational standards.
• Design and improve mining and mineral processing methods.
• Identify operational challenges and recommend practical solutions.
• Prepare mining-related projects and technical proposals.
• Stay informed about international mining trends and best practices.
• Develop strategies to increase the value and productivity of mineral resources.
• Assist the cooperative in obtaining and renewing mining licenses and permits.
• Prepare and disseminate information on mining achievements in accordance with legal requirements.
• Submit activity reports and work plans to the Executive Secretary of COMIKAGI.
• Coordinate mining operations and develop strategies to improve production efficiency.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

• Application letter addressed to the President of COMIKAGI.
• Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
• Names and contact details of three professional referees.
• Notarized copy of academic degree certificate.
• Copy of National Identification Card.
