Applications are now open for the INES-Ruhengeri Health Programs Scholarship for the March 2026 Intake in Rwanda. This funded scholarship opportunity invites qualified students who have completed their secondary education to apply for undergraduate programs in health sciences. The scholarship aims to support talented students who are passionate about contributing to Rwanda’s healthcare system.

The scholarship is offered by Institut d'Enseignement Supérieur de Ruhengeri (INES-Ruhengeri) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Rwanda under the national 4x4 Health Sector Strategy. The initiative seeks to strengthen the country’s healthcare workforce by supporting students pursuing professional training in critical health fields.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

Successful applicants will receive the following benefits:

·       Funded scholarship support for selected undergraduate health programs

·       Opportunity to study at INES-Ruhengeri, one of Rwanda’s recognized higher learning institutions

·       Professional training in priority health sector fields

·       Employment integration opportunity within Rwanda’s health system after graduation (subject to contract agreement with the Ministry of Health)

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

·       Have completed general secondary education.

·       Have studied one of the following subject combinations:

a.     Physics – Chemistry – Biology

b.     Mathematics – Chemistry – Biology

c.      Biology – Chemistry – Geography

d.     Associate Nurses programs

·       Academic requirements:

a.     Anesthesia Program: At least Grade C in Biology and Chemistry

b.     Biomedical Laboratory Sciences: At least Grade D in Biology and Chemistry

AVAILABLE PROGRAMS

The scholarship is available for the following undergraduate programs:

·       Bachelor of Science with Honors in Anesthesia

·       Bachelor of Science with Honors in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Applicants must prepare the following documents:

·       Senior Six (S6) Certificate

·       Valid National ID or Passport

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Interested applicants must submit their application online through the application link given at the bottom. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

·       Applicants must not currently be receiving another government-funded scholarship or scholarship from government partners.

·       Applicants must not have graduated from another university-level program.

·       Applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be invited to sit for an admission test scheduled for 16th and 17th March 2026.

·       Final scholarship selection will be based on admission test performance.

·       Selected students must sign a contract agreement with the Ministry of Health committing to serve in the health system for a specified period after graduation.
