The University of Technology and Arts of Byumba (UTAB) is pleased to invite applications from eligible candidates for a “Study Now–Pay Later” financial support scheme for undergraduate studies. This opportunity is designed to support students who wish to pursue higher education but may face financial challenges. This financial support program is offered in partnership with Chancen International under the Income Share Agreement (ISA) model. Through this collaboration, students can access funding for their studies at UTAB Byumba Campus, with repayment starting only after graduation and once they begin earning an income.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

·       Covers education costs during the study period under the Income Share Agreement (ISA).

·       Allows students to study now and repay later after securing employment.

·       Repayment begins only when the graduate starts earning income, according to the agreed terms.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must:

·       Have completed secondary education.

·       Obtain at least 50% marks or two principal passes (for those who completed secondary school before 2024).

·       Meet admission requirements for their chosen undergraduate program at UTAB.

AVAILABLE PROGRAMS

The financial scheme applies to the following undergraduate programs offered at UTAB Byumba Campus (Day Program mode):

1. Bachelor of Science with Honours in Animal Production
2. Bachelor of Science with Honours in Crop Production
3. Bachelor of Science with Honours in Management of Forest Plantation and Natural Ecosystem
4. Bachelor of Science with Honours in Renewable Energy
5. Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Social Work

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Each application must include:

·       A notarized copy of the Secondary Education Certificate (meeting the required marks).

·       A copy of the National Identity Card.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Applications must be submitted online through the UTAB Management Information System (UMIS) through the application link given at the bottom of this page.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The Income Share Agreement (ISA) model ensures that students are supported throughout their studies without immediate financial burden. Beneficiaries agree to repay a portion of their income after graduation, once they are employed and earning. This flexible repayment structure aims to make higher education more accessible and sustainable.
