The Rwanda Cultural Heritage Academy (RCHA) is inviting qualified and motivated candidates to apply for the position of Warden Guide under contract. This opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about culture, history, tourism, and public engagement, and who are ready to contribute to the preservation and promotion of Rwanda’s cultural heritage.REGISTER NOW for new programs at MK SCHOLARS
Successful candidates will play a key role in guiding visitors, supporting museum exhibitions, and ensuring an enriching experience for guests. Selected applicants must be ready to be deployed to any museum during the course of the contract to support effective service delivery.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields (0 years of experience required):
· Economics
· Public Administration
· Sociology
· Development Studies
· History
· Education
· Anthropology
· International Relations
· Environmental Sciences
· Natural Sciences
· Business Administration
· History with Education
· Cultural Heritage Management
· Customer Relations
· Translation and Interpretation
· Museology
· Heritage Studies
· Socio-Linguistics
· History of Arts
· Modern Foreign Languages
· Conservation Biology
· Tourism Studies
· Tourism and Hospitality
· Travel and Tourism Management
Required Competencies and Technical Skills:
· Integrity, accountability, and professionalism
· Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills
· Customer care and client focus
· Knowledge of Rwandan culture, history, ethics, and values
· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
· Fluency in Kinyarwanda, English and/or French (knowledge of all is an advantage)
· Ability to work in multicultural environments
· Leadership and conflict resolution skills
· Strong presentation, reporting, and documentation skills
· Ability to listen actively and respond to visitor needs
AVAILABLE POSITIONS
· Warden Guide: 7 Posts
· Employment Type: Contract
· Reporting To: Deputy Director General in charge of Language and Culture Preservation
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Receive and Guide Museum Visitors
· Lead individuals and groups through museum galleries, explaining objects and artworks
· Monitor visitors to ensure compliance with museum regulations
· Answer visitor questions and maintain organized, safe tours
· Help visitors understand the museum’s concepts and exhibitions
· Provide first aid or emergency support when necessary
2. Support Exhibition Continuity and Reporting
· Distribute brochures, flyers, and present audiovisual materials for exhibitions
· Monitor the condition of arts, crafts, and exhibition equipment
· Report observations on materials and visitor feedback to responsible units
· Prepare reports on exhibitions and visitor engagement
3. Manage Visitor Feedback Data
· Build and maintain a database of visitor comments and suggestions
· Collect and register feedback for future improvements
· Assist in analyzing visitor suggestions to enhance exhibitions and services
