EARTH University is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program and the Mastercard Foundation–EARTH University Fellowship Program. These prestigious opportunities support talented young people from disadvantaged communities who aspire to become change-makers in agriculture, environmental stewardship, and sustainable development. The programs are designed to remove financial barriers, nurture leadership, and empower the next generation of innovators dedicated to transforming food systems and strengthening livelihoods across Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

This initiative represents a longstanding partnership between EARTH University and the Mastercard Foundation. Together, both institutions collaborate to expand access to higher education and create pathways to meaningful employment and entrepreneurship. The partnership includes four major components: the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at EARTH, the Mastercard Foundation–EARTH University Fellowship Program, and additional efforts that enrich training, mentorship, and post-graduation opportunities for young leaders. SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS
The Mastercard Foundation programs at EARTH University provide full financial support to students who would otherwise be unable to access higher education. Scholars receive:
• Full or partial scholarships, depending on financial need
• Mentorship and career guidance throughout their studies
• Service-learning opportunities, fieldwork, and professional internships
• Leadership development and community engagement training
• Access to post-graduation support through the Fellowship Program, which facilitates employment and entrepreneurship opportunities across Africa

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be considered for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at EARTH University, applicants must:
• Come from a disadvantaged or financially underserved community
• Meet all EARTH University admission requirements
• Demonstrate strong academic performance, leadership potential, and commitment to contributing to sustainable development
• Seek to pursue studies in one of EARTH’s undergraduate programs
• Be unable to attend university without financial assistance

Note: The first step to scholarship consideration is completing EARTH University’s full admissions process, including exams, interviews, and a socioeconomic study.

AVAILABLE PROGRAMS
Scholarships are offered for undergraduate studies in the following fields:
• Agricultural Sciences
• Natural Resources Management
• Sustainable Development

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Applicants must prepare and submit the following documents:
• Three recommendation letters from non-family members
• High school reports from grades 10 to 12
• High school diploma
• Supporting documents, such as certificates in foreign languages, club participation, special achievements, awards, or completion of training courses

APPLICATION PROCEDURES
The admissions and scholarship application process at EARTH University is free, personalized, and conducted in several stages:
1. Fill out and submit the online application form
2. Provide three recommendation letters
3. Submit transcripts from the last three years of high school
4. Upload your high school diploma
5. Upload any additional supporting documents (certificates, awards, trainings, etc.)
6. Complete the admissions tests
7. Participate in the admissions interview
8. Undergo a family socioeconomic study
9. Await final decisions regarding admissions and financial aid eligibility

Important: Financial aid decisions-whether full or partial scholarships—are made only after successfully passing the academic admissions process.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
EARTH University receives over 1,500 applications annually, with approximately 120 students admitted each year. Full scholarships are extremely competitive: out of more than 1,000 applicants, only around 50 are awarded annually. Partial scholarships are determined by the Financial Aid Committee after a careful evaluation of each student’s financial capacity. The Mastercard Foundation–EARTH University Fellowship Program, launched in 2019, also supports graduates—particularly those of African descent—to secure employment or launch entrepreneurial ventures across Africa.
