The WAAW (Working to Advance STEM Education for African Women) Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering African women in STEM fields. Through scholarships, mentorship, and leadership programs, the foundation works to close the gender gap in STEM across Africa by encouraging women to use their education to create lasting community impact. SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS
• Full or partial funding to support tuition and academic expenses.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
• Must be a female student of African origin, living and studying in Africa.
• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program.
• Must be studying a STEM-related course in a recognized university or college in Africa.
• Must be a first or second-year student, or a third-year student in a 5-year university program.
• Must be able to demonstrate financial need.
• Must have an excellent academic record.
• Must have proven leadership, volunteering, and community service experience.
• Must be below the age of 32 years.

AVAILABLE PROGRAMS
The scholarship covers all undergraduate programs related to STEM disciplines, including but not limited to:
• Science
• Technology
• Engineering
• Mathematics

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Applicants are typically required to prepare the following:
• Academic transcripts or recent results.
• Proof of enrollment in a university or college.
• A statement of financial need.
• Personal statement or essay explaining motivation, leadership experience, and community involvement.
• 2 Reference Letters to be submitted by your referees.
