JOIN THE RWANDA NATIONAL POLICE AS A CONSTABLE

The Rwanda National Police (RNP) is offering an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals to join the force as constables through the upcoming Basic Police Course. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for recruitment:
β€’ Be a Rwandan citizen
β€’ Be between 18 and 25 years old
β€’ Be physically and mentally fit
β€’ Hold an Advanced Level (A2) certificate
β€’ Be of good conduct and character, verified by a certificate from local authorities
β€’ Have no criminal record or history of conviction with a sentence equal to or exceeding six months
β€’ Have no record of dismissal from public service
β€’ Be willing to work anywhere within the country

AVAILABLE POSITIONS
β€’ Constable (Basic Police Course Trainee)
Successful candidates will undergo professional police training and be integrated into the Rwanda National Police at the constable level upon completion of the course.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Constables in the Rwanda National Police are expected to:
β€’ Maintain peace, security, and public order
β€’ Prevent and investigate crimes
β€’ Protect people and property
β€’ Enforce national laws and regulations
β€’ Support community policing initiatives
β€’ Uphold professionalism, integrity, and the values of the Rwanda National Police

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Applicants must provide the following documents during registration:
β€’ A duly filled application form. (Download the form at the bottom of this page.)
β€’ A recent passport-sized photograph
β€’ A copy of the national identity card (ID)
β€’ A copy of the A2 academic certificate
β€’ A certificate of good conduct from local authorities

APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Interested candidates should visit the District Police Unit (DPU) in their area of residence to register. Registration will be open from October 14, 2025, to November 7, 2025, between 08:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on working days. Applicants must present all required documents at the time of registration.
