The Higher Education Council (HEC) has officially announced the opening of study loan applications for students admitted to Rwanda Polytechnic (Bachelor of Technology) and the University of Rwanda (UR) for the academic year 2025.

ELIGIBILIGY REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for the HEC study loan, applicants must:
• Have an official admission letter to either Rwanda Polytechnic (Bachelor of Technology) or the University of Rwanda.
• Have completed high school in 2024 in Rwanda, or hold a NESA-issued equivalence certificate (for students who studied abroad or in international schools).
• Ensure the equivalence certificate is valid and linked to admission in the Bachelor of Technology program at Rwanda Polytechnic.

NOTE: Students who were admitted to Rwanda Polytechnic with a loan placement but later gained admission at the University of Rwanda are not eligible for a second loan.
