INES Ruhengeri, in collaboration with the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) of Rwanda, is excited to announce a scholarship opportunity for young Rwandans passionate about pursuing a career in science. This initiative is proudly funded by the Scottish Government through Oxfam and aims to empower Rwandan students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), particularly those facing economic and social challenges.

This program focuses on supporting students from ten districts in Rwanda: Kicukiro, Nyarugenge, Bugesera, Kayonza, Kamonyi, Muhanga, Gicumbi, Musanze, Rubavu, and Ngororero. Through this scholarship, young women will have the chance to access higher education in a critical healthcare-related program and build a strong foundation for their future careers in science. 📚 Register now for our new programs at MK SCHOLARS.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Applicants must meet the following conditions to be considered:
• Be a Rwandan female aged 18–25 years (age limit extended to 30 years for persons with disabilities)
• Hold an Advanced Certificate in one of the following combinations: MCB, PCB, BCG, Biochimie, Latin-Science, Latin-Biochimie, Laboratory, or Associate Nursing Program
• Have obtained a minimum grade of A to C in both Biology and Chemistry
• Must have graduated from secondary school between 2019 and 2023
• Be a first-year student not enrolled in any other higher learning institution
• Girls with vulnerabilities such as disabilities, early motherhood (not married), or single mothers are strongly encouraged to apply

AVAILABLE PROGRAM:
• Bachelor of Biomedical Laboratory Science

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
Applicants must prepare and submit the following documents:
• Notarized copy of the secondary school certificate
• National ID
• Two recent passport-sized color photographs
• Medical proof of disability (if applicable)
• Proof of economic vulnerability, signed and issued by a recognized local authority

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This scholarship program is part of a larger effort to increase female participation in science and technology fields in Rwanda. Selected students will receive holistic support, including academic mentorship and community engagement opportunities through YWCA Rwanda.
