The position of Equipment Operator within the Ramp Handling Section of the Ground Services Department at Kigali International Airport plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of airport operations. This role involves the handling and operation of various Ground Support Equipment (GSE), which are essential for supporting aircraft during their time on the ground. As part of a busy international airport, the Equipment Operator contributes directly to aircraft turnaround times, passenger satisfaction, and airline service quality.

This position requires a high level of responsibility, attention to safety, and knowledge of airport procedures. The Equipment Operator must follow both the airport’s operational guidelines and the specific requirements of different airlines to ensure the secure and effective use of GSE. Working in a dynamic airside environment, the operator helps maintain safe ground operations by carefully transporting cargo, baggage, and other aircraft-related equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and contributing to the overall efficiency of airport services. 📚 Register now for our new programs at MK SCHOLARS.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
• Must have completed “A Level” (Advanced Level of education) at minimum.
• Must hold a valid driving license class C and F.
• Must be between 24 and 35 years old.
• Must be physically fit and healthy to perform manual and equipment operation tasks.


AVAILABLE POSITIONS
Position: Equipment Operator.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To operate handling equipment to support the needs of the business.
• Only operate GSE after adequate training and qualification has been received and if authorised by the supervisor.
• Operate GSE within safety regulations to avoid accidents and injuries.
• Prepare, check, and position all GSE in preparation for aircraft turnaround.
• Report any irregularities during loading/offloading to the ramp supervisor.
• Note any defects on the equipment and report any deficiencies to the equipment supervisor.
• Follow the rules and regulations for airside driving.
• Only operate GSE for its intended use.
• Maintain a healthy, safe, and secure working environment in compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements of customer airlines.
• Report security threats and incidents that occur during daily operations.
• Report safety hazards and incidents identified during daily operations to the Ramp Supervisor.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
• An application letter addressed to the Chief HR & Administration Officer.
• Recent Curriculum Vitae.
• Copies of notarised degree/Diploma certificates.
• Relevant certificates, including Certificate of Services, where applicable.
• Copies of academic papers.
• A photocopy of the Passport/National ID.
