• Renewable each year by maintaining:
o A minimum 3.0 GPA.
o Completion of 24 credit hours per academic year (fall and winter semesters).
• Helps cover out-of-state or international tuition costs.
• Available to both first year and transfer undergraduate students.
• Offered by a respected public university in the USA.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• Must be an international student or non-resident student with a valid student visa or out-of-state residency.
• Must apply and be accepted to a full-time, degree-seeking undergraduate program at the University of Michigan–Dearborn.
• For freshman applicants:
o Minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) at the time of admission.
o If you have fewer than 24 transferable credits, you must have: SAT total score of 1020 or higher or ACT composite score of 20 or higher.
• For transfer applicants: Minimum 3.5 GPA at the time of admission.
• Must demonstrate English proficiency with one of the following:
o IELTS score of 6.5 or higher.
o TOEFL iBT score of 80 or higher (CBT 213 / PBT 550).
o MELAB score of 76 or higher.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

• Official high school transcripts or previous college transcripts (for transfer students).
• Proof of English language proficiency (if applicable):
o IELTS score report (minimum 6.5)
o TOEFL score report (minimum iBT 80)
o Or MELAB score report (minimum 76)
• Standardized test scores
o SAT scores (minimum 1020) or
o ACT scores (minimum 20) — usually for freshmen with fewer than 24 transferable credits
• Copy of valid passport or other government-issued identification
• Copy of valid student visa (for international students)
• Personal statement or essay
• Letters of recommendation (optional, but can strengthen application)
• Any additional program-specific documents (if applying for a particular major with extra requirements)

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

1. Apply for Admission: Submit your application through the university application portal using link at the bottom of this page.
2. Submit Required Documents.
3. Apply for Financial Aid: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the deadline of February 1, 2025.
4. Await Admission Decision: Admission decisions are released on a rolling basis, You will be notified via email and can check your application status online.
5. Accept Offer and Confirm Enrollment: Upon admission, submit a non-refundable $50 enrollment deposit to confirm your intent to enroll.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Non-Resident Scholarship: Available to non-resident students, with award amounts varying based on GPA.
• Tuition Differential Incentive Scholarship: Covers the difference between in state and out-of-state tuition fees for eligible students.
