ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

• Must apply as a first-year undergraduate student to Boston University.

• Highly competitive academic profile, often including SAT or ACT scores if submitted.
• Must maintain satisfactory academic progress at Boston University to renew the scholarship each year.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

• Secondary school transcripts (official high school transcripts or academic records).
• Letters of recommendation (usually one from a school counselor and at least one from a teacher).
• Personal statement / essay included in the Common or Coalition Application.
• Standardized test scores (SAT or ACT), if you choose to submit them — note BU is test-optional.
• Proof of English proficiency for non-native English speakers (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, or equivalent test scores).
• Application fee (or fee waiver, if eligible).
• Optional: Portfolio or audition materials (for applicants to certain programs in the College of Fine Arts).
• Optional: Additional materials (such as an expanded resume or supplementary essay, if you choose to include them).


APPLICATION PROCEDURES:

• Choose and complete the Common Application or Coalition Application.
• Apply as a first-year undergraduate student to Boston University.
• Submit your completed application by the priority deadline.
• Decide whether to include optional SAT or ACT scores (test-optional policy).
• For international applicants, include proof of English proficiency.
• Submit any required additional materials for specific programs (e.g., portfolio or audition).
• Pay the application fee or request a fee waiver if eligible.
• No separate scholarship application is needed; you are automatically considered based on your admission application.

• Approximately 3% of first-year applicants receive this scholarship.
