SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS :

• Monthly stipend: €1,365 per month (for living expenses)
• Travel reimbursement:
o Up to €1,500 for scholars coming from outside Europe
o Up to €750 for scholars coming from within Europe
• Accommodation support: Option to rent an affordable room at the institute’s guesthouse (about €680 per month, paid from stipend).
• Access to resources: Use of the Doucet Collection, full library, and research facilities.
• Academic environment: Opportunity to collaborate and exchange ideas with international researchers.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

• Must be an early-career researcher: Master's (or equivalent) graduates, PhD candidates, or early postdoctoral researchers.
• Research project must be focused on colonial legal history.
• Project must include direct engagement with the Doucet Collection at the Max Planck Institute.
• Must be based outside Frankfurt (priority is given to researchers from Latin America, but all nationalities can apply).
• Application and supporting documents must be submitted in English or Spanish.
