The Higher Education Council (HEC) is delighted to inform all interested Rwandan citizens about an exciting scholarship opportunity made available by the Government of Poland for the 2025/2026 academic year. This initiative is part of the prestigious Stefan Banach Scholarship Programme, which is designed to support international students in pursuing advanced education in Poland. Through this programme, qualified individuals have the chance to undertake second-cycle (Master’s) studies at top universities in Poland, in fields such as engineering, science, agriculture, and other areas aligned with sustainable development goals. The scholarship covers tuition fees and living expenses, making it a valuable opportunity for those seeking to further their education in a high-quality European academic environment.

This scholarship programme is managed by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), which collaborates with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland to implement it as part of Poland’s development cooperation policy. Notably, Rwanda has been selected once again to benefit from this international educational initiative, marking the second time the programme is being extended to Rwandan nationals. The opportunity reflects the strengthening of educational ties between Rwanda and Poland and provides a pathway for capable Rwandan students to gain global exposure, academic excellence, and the skills needed to contribute meaningfully to national and regional development. SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS :

• Fully funded Master’s degree studies in Poland.
• Open to all fields of study, with priority given to STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
• Studies must be undertaken at public universities in Poland.
• Study programs are available in either English or Polish.
• One-time settling-in allowance (PLN 500) upon arrival in Poland.
• Additional allowance (PLN 500) to support preparation of the Master's thesis.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

• Rwandan citizenship.
• Acceptance into a Master's programme at a Polish public university.

• Engineering & Technology.
• Exact/Natural Sciences (e.g. Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry).
• Life Sciences & Health Sciences.
• Agricultural Sciences & Environmental Studies.
• Social Sciences & Humanities (only for certain countries, excluding native-language philology).
• Arts & Creative Disciplines (included broadly in some offerings).

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree completed or expected before the 2025/26 academic year. If you're in your final year: submit a confirmation of student status or expected graduation letter from your university.
• CV (Curriculum Vitae).
• Recommendation Letter(s):At least one academic reference letter from a university lecturer or professor.
• Motivation Letter: Written in English or Polish explaining your academic interests, goals, and reasons for choosing studies in Poland.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• This is a highly competitive program among over 30 eligible countries.
• The selection process will take place in July-August, with results expected in September 2025.
• Due to the short application window, interested candidates are strongly encouraged to apply immediately.
