SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS :

The Central South University Scholarship 2025-26 in China offers both Full and Partial Scholarships to international students. The benefits for each type of scholarship are as follows:

Full Scholarship:

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
To apply for the Central South University Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Nationality & Health: Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens, in good physical and mental health, with no criminal record.
• Educational Background & Age Limit:
o For Master’s degree programs: Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and be between 18 and 35 years old.
o For Doctoral programs: Applicants must hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) and be between 18 and 40 years old.

• Language Proficiency:
o For Chinese-taught programs: A minimum HSK4 score of 260 is required for non-medical programs, and 200 for medical programs.
o For English-taught programs: Applicants should have an IELTS score of at least 6 or a TOEFL score of at least 85.
o Applicants who do not meet the Chinese language requirement must complete a one-year preparatory Chinese course and pass the relevant exams.

• Academic and Research Ability: Postgraduate applicants should have a strong academic record and demonstrate research potential or innovative capabilities.
• Program-Specific Requirements: Some academic programs may have additional criteria. Applicants are advised to consult the official 2025 Program Catalog for specific requirements.

AVAILABLE PROGRAMS:
Almost all Academic Fields are available in Central South University. CHECK ALL AVAILABLE PROGRAMS 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

• Passport Copy: A clear photocopy of a valid passport with at least one year of availability.
• Academic Certificate: A photocopy or notarized copy of the highest graduation certificate. If the applicant is still studying, a pre-graduation certificate issued by the current institution is required.
• Academic Transcript: A transcript of the highest diploma, either original or notarized copy.
• Non-Criminal Record: Official certificate with a stamp, issued after October 1, 2024.
• Language Proficiency Proof:
o For Chinese-taught programs: HSK4 transcript.
o For English-taught programs: IELTS or TOEFL transcript, or equivalent proof of language competence.

• Application Fee Receipt: Photocopy of the remittance bill for the application fee (CNY 500).
• Financial Statement: A personal statement confirming the applicant is not receiving financial support from any other institution.
• Recommendation Letters: Two letters of recommendation with their full contact details.
• Study Plan: A written study or research plan of not less than 800 words, explaining academic background, research methods, content, and significance (required for Master’s and PhD applicants).
• Acceptance Letter: An acceptance letter from a CSU professor (required only for Master’s and PhD applicants).
•. Additional Supporting Materials: Such as published papers, certificates, or any other academic achievements.


APPLICATION PROCEDURES:

Step 1: Online Application
Log in to the system of School of International Education using the link at the bottom, fill in the application form and submit it.
Step 2: Initial Review and application fee payment
The School of International Education will have an initial review of the applicant's identity, language ability, physical and mental conditions, etc. When the applicants pass the initial review, pay the application fee of CNY 500 on the unified payment platform of CSU according to the email (WeChat, Alipay, and UnionPay are available); Please complete the application fee payment within two weeks, otherwise, the application cannot continue. If you fail to pass the initial review, NO NEED to pay the application fee.
Step 3: Academic Review.
Relevant schools will conduct an academic review for applicants to comprehensively examine their academic background, scientific research ability, or innovation potential.
Step 4: Result Release.
Based on the application and review situation, the final admission result will be released via admission email

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Scholarship Renewal: For multi-year programs, scholarships are subject to annual review based on academic performance, conduct, and participation. Failing to meet the university's standards may lead to reduction or cancellation of the scholarship.
•Preparatory Course: Applicants who need to improve their Chinese proficiency may be required to attend a one-year Chinese language preparatory course before starting the degree program
•Scholarship Notification: Selected candidates will be notified through email, and results are usually announced between May and July 2025. Make sure your email address is valid and regularly checked.
